Is cataract surgery painful?

No, the procedure is largely painless – usually local anesthesia is sufficient.

The operation takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes and is performed on an outpatient basis. Patients can usually go home on the same day.

Depending on your needs and vision profile, we offer standard, bifocal and trifocal premium lenses.

Vision usually improves after just a few days – full visual acuity is typically achieved after one to two weeks.

Basic health insurance covers standard surgery. Premium lenses and additional services are often not covered by insurance. Health insurance companies offer various plans in this regard.
